Platform Support
Cabinet configuration on current NovaStar systems is handled through NovaLCT (Windows). Cabinet files (.scr / .rcfgx) can be inspected, edited, and compared in any browser using our free tools below.
FAQ
Where do I download the NovaStar Cabinet Tool?
On current NovaStar systems, cabinet programming is built into NovaLCT (its NCP and Screen Configuration workflows) rather than a separate download. To simply open, edit, or compare a .scr or .rcfgx cabinet file, use our free browser tools - no install needed.
What file types does the Cabinet Tool use?
It creates and edits NovaStar cabinet configuration files: .scr and .rcfgx (and older .rcfg). These describe module wiring, data groups, driver IC settings, and receiving-card parameters.
Can I edit a .scr or .rcfgx file without NovaStar software?
Yes. Our browser-based SCR Viewer/Editor and RCFGX Viewer open, edit, rebuild, and compare these files directly, and the SCR Compare tool diffs two files. No Windows software is required.
Is the Cabinet Tool the same as NovaLCT?
Cabinet programming (NCP) is now part of NovaLCT. A separate standalone Cabinet Tool is legacy. For current hardware, use NovaLCT's Screen Configuration and NCP management.
