NovaStar Cabinet Tool (NCP)

Editing and managing NovaStar cabinet configuration files (.scr / .rcfgx)

The NovaStar Cabinet Tool (NCP, NovaStar Cabinet Programming) is used by panel manufacturers and integrators to create and edit cabinet configuration files - the .scr and .rcfgx files that describe a cabinet's module wiring, data groups, driver IC settings, and receiving-card parameters. On current NovaStar systems this workflow lives inside NovaLCT (Screen Configuration and NCP management); a separate standalone Cabinet Tool is legacy.

Legacy / Deprecated

A standalone NovaStar Cabinet Tool is legacy - cabinet programming is now part of NovaLCT's NCP workflow. If you just need to open, edit, rebuild, or compare a cabinet file (.scr or .rcfgx), you don't need to install anything: use our free browser tools below.

Work with cabinet files in your browser - no install

Our free, browser-based tools open, edit, rebuild, and compare the .scr and .rcfgx cabinet files the Cabinet Tool produces - no Windows software required.

FAQ

Where do I download the NovaStar Cabinet Tool?

On current NovaStar systems, cabinet programming is built into NovaLCT (its NCP and Screen Configuration workflows) rather than a separate download. To simply open, edit, or compare a .scr or .rcfgx cabinet file, use our free browser tools - no install needed.

What file types does the Cabinet Tool use?

It creates and edits NovaStar cabinet configuration files: .scr and .rcfgx (and older .rcfg). These describe module wiring, data groups, driver IC settings, and receiving-card parameters.

Can I edit a .scr or .rcfgx file without NovaStar software?

Yes. Our browser-based SCR Viewer/Editor and RCFGX Viewer open, edit, rebuild, and compare these files directly, and the SCR Compare tool diffs two files. No Windows software is required.

Is the Cabinet Tool the same as NovaLCT?

Cabinet programming (NCP) is now part of NovaLCT. A separate standalone Cabinet Tool is legacy. For current hardware, use NovaLCT's Screen Configuration and NCP management.
