NovaStar MX_1xST2110 (100G) Input Card
The MX_1xST2110 (100G) Input Card brings a single 100GbE QSFP28 port of uncompressed SMPTE ST 2110 IP video into NovaStar MX2000 Pro and MX6000 Pro COEX controllers. Its 100-gigabit pipe is the highest-bandwidth ST 2110 ingest in the MX line, with headroom for resolutions up to 8K and 10-bit color depending on the stream. It is built for broadcast IP plants that carry video, audio, and metadata as separate essence flows timed by PTP.

Ideal Applications
Perfect for a wide range of professional LED display scenarios
Broadcast and OB-truck IP plants feeding large LED walls directly from an ST 2110 fabric
High-resolution studio backdrops and virtual-production volumes driven from one 100G uplink
Live events and arenas consolidating multiple high-bandwidth feeds onto one IP port
Facility IP cores where uncompressed video must reach the LED processor without SDI conversion
Why ST 2110 over 100G for an LED wall?
SMPTE ST 2110 is the broadcast standard for moving uncompressed video over standard IP networks. Instead of one combined signal, it splits each source into separate streams β video, audio, and ancillary metadata β kept aligned with PTP network timing, so a modern plant can route, switch, and distribute content entirely over Ethernet rather than dedicated SDI cabling.
Uncompressed ST 2110 video is extremely bandwidth-hungry, which is why the 100G variant exists. A single 100GbE QSFP28 port carries far more than a 25G link, so it can ingest higher-resolution and higher-frame-rate streams β up to 8K and 10-bit depending on the source β on one fiber into the MX2000 Pro or MX6000 Pro that drives the wall.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between the 100G card and the 25G ST 2110 cards?
Bandwidth. The 100G card uses a single 100GbE QSFP28 port carrying roughly four times the data of a 25G link β that headroom handles the highest-resolution uncompressed streams (up to 8K, 10-bit), where 25G cards target standard HD/UHD feeds.
Which MX controllers is it compatible with?
The NovaStar MX-Series COEX controllers β MX2000 Pro and MX6000 Pro.
What does SMPTE ST 2110 actually carry?
Uncompressed video, audio, and ancillary metadata as separate IP essence streams kept in sync by PTP timing, ingested directly into the MX controller from your IP fabric.
What connector does the card use?
One 100G Ethernet port on a QSFP28 cage β a single high-bandwidth ingest port.
Do I need SDI to use this card?
No β ST 2110 keeps video on the IP network end to end, so the card ingests directly from your fabric without converting to baseband SDI.
Does this card support 8K input?
The 100G port has headroom for up to 8K and 10-bit color, but the achievable resolution and frame rate depend on the specific ST 2110 stream format you send.
What warranty is included?
All NovaStar products include a full 3-year manufacturer warranty when purchased from authorized distributors like Olympian LED.
