NovaStar CVTX-S
The CVTX-S is the single-mode (long-distance) version of NovaStar's new 1G / 5G fiber converter, announced at InfoComm 2026. It works with the NovaStar MX40 Pro in both 1G and 5G modes; standard 1G controllers run it in 1G mode (5G operation requires the MX40 Pro). In 1G mode a single 10G single-mode fiber feeds all 10 Ethernet ports; in 5G mode it takes 4x 10G single-mode fiber inputs to drive 8 Ethernet ports — so the MX40 Pro can run 5G cabinets without the 40G front end the CVT8-5G series requires. Older front-end models that cap at 8 ports support 8 ports in 1G mode.
