Why a standard I/O control card?
Unlike the video input cards, the H_STD I/O Card is about control, not pixels. It turns an H-Series processor into a control hub that can talk to the rest of the room over serial, Ethernet, GPIO, relay, and infrared, so the wall processor can both react to and command external equipment.
Choose this card when your installation needs the processor to integrate with a larger AV control system or to automate actions: powering devices on and off via relays, triggering presets from contact closures, sending RS232/RS422/RS485 commands, or driving IR devices. It occupies an input slot, so it trades a video input for control capability.

Is this a video input card?
No. The H_STD I/O Card is a control and communication card. It provides serial, Ethernet, GPIO, relay, and infrared interfaces rather than video inputs.
What serial protocols does it support?
It has two programmable COM ports that support RS422, RS485, and RS232.
What is the Ethernet port for?
It is a 10/100Mbps self-adaptive control port supporting TCP/IP and UDP/IP, used to control devices connected to the card.
What can the relay outputs do?
There are three relay outputs rated up to 30 VDC at 3A, used to control power on/off of connected devices. They can be connected or disconnected via programming.
How do the GPIO and IR outputs work?
Three programmable GPIO pins can each be set as input or output (with a common ground) to trigger functions, and three IR outputs provide programmable infrared control.
Where does the card install?
It installs into an input card slot of the H2, H5, H9, H15, or H20 processor.
